Each year, all Little Flower physics students travel to the University of Pennsylvania for a day-long field trip based around science. While they were not able to hold this session in person this year, our students were fortunate enough to have experienced this field trip virtually. Three professors from the University of Pennsylvania Physics Department joined our entire first-year class, as well as our junior honors physics students, in an interactive zoom demonstration based around electromagnetism.
The professors covered everything from electrostatics to currents moving through light and eventually closed us out with a compelling demonstration of the strength of lightning. A special thank you to Mrs. Pisacano, who organizes this trip each year. We also want to thank Mary Marcopul, Peter Harnish, and Bill Berner, the three professors from The University of Pennsylvania who were gracious enough to meet with us. We cannot wait to be back next year.
