Ms. Kristin Sheridan, Guidance Director (Ext. 142)

  • Coordinates all aspects of guidance services
  • Works individually with juniors and seniors on the college selection, application and financial aid processes
  • Provides in-class presentations to all grade levels in relation to career exploration, PSAT, SAT and ACT testing, college selection, and financial aid
  • Provides personal, academic, career and college counseling
  • Facilitates requests for educational testing with CORA school psychologist

Ms. Rebecca Malfara, Social Worker (Ext. 149)

  • Works to facilitate increased communication between home and school
  • Actively addresses barriers within child, home, school and community that may interfere with student achievement
  • Works to connect families with community resources
  • Provides addition services to students and families, including assessment, crisis intervention and home visits

Ms. Kate Barker, CORA Counselor (Ext. 144)

  • Supports students going through situational adjustments — for example, loss through death, divorce, step-family, adoption, new school, etc.
  • Offers group and/or individual counseling concerning school-related difficulties (academic problems, behavioral concerns, peer interactions)
  • Works with students on issues involving self-esteem, motivation, dating, parental communication
  • Assists with career and vocational counseling

Ms. Colleen Brandt, Pennsylvania Advising Corps Counselor (Ext. 145)

  • Works individually with juniors and senior on the career and college process
  • Assists with in-class presentations and career or college related events 
  • Provides resources on summer programs, SAT, careers, college search, financial aid, scholarships, etc. 
  • Manages her career and college website: PCAC College Advising Corp
  • Ensures each senior has a plan for after high school 

Ms. Ashley Maher-Stearn, Administrative Assistant (Ext. 146)

  • Coordinates all requests for transcripts
  • Schedules visits by college admissions representatives in the cafeteria
  • Facilitates Ellis grant applications
  • Receives and posts both full and part-time employment opportunities

Mrs. Christina McCarthy, RN, School Nurse  (Ext. 124)

  • Responsible to develop, implement and manage a health program for the student population as defined by the School District of  Philadelphia
