Bloom 3.0 ended with over 90 incoming freshmen being able to successfully plant their roots into the beautiful legacy and culture at Little Flower. Our incoming freshmen were joined by a few of our dedicated upperclassmen and newly graduated alumni to serve as a friendly face and academic counselors before the school year begins. As the only summer program within the School District of Philadelphia and amongst the Archdiocesan schools, the determined young ladies participated in an engaging and creative curriculum that included sessions in English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Art, Catholic Identity and Social and Emotional Learning.
Bloom 3.0 ran for three sessions from July 19th to August 27
th. This intensive two-week program ended with a wonderful showcase where the ladies were able to demonstrate to their peers, family, and Little Flower staff all their hard work that they have been working on. Presentations included informing the audience the difference amongst various DNA and the infamous Newton's Law of Motion in science; allowing students to truly express themselves in their own creative light with watercolors and the planning and implementation of their thoughts and visions to the new mural that can be located in the cafeteria. Other presentations included illustrating to the audience that Little Flower cares about its community and environment. The ladies were able to identify an issue within their communities that they feel passionately about and develop a social action policy written to a member without Pennsylvania government on how to resolve the issue at hand. Ladies targeted issues such as food deserts in Philadelphia, homelessness, mental health, and the opioids crisis just to name a few. This program brought together six exceptional and passionate educators to deliver an experience that offered life lessons and the ability for the girls to find their voices in this vast world. Welcome to Little Flower, Class of 2025!
