Little Flower’s Orchestra consists of students in the instrumental music classes as well as those who still wish to play their instruments in high school. The group meets 1-2 times a week after school to practice for several performance events. Orchestra plays for school functions such as installations, celebrations, and open houses, as well as the annual spring and winter concerts. The members of the orchestra also have the opportunity to join small ensembles in their instrument families. These small ensembles are String Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Clarinet Ensemble, Flute Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble.
The school Pep Band is comprised of volunteer music students who join the T club. Pep Band members play at a variety of events such as open houses, pep rallies, and basketball games. The members of Pep Band meet with their moderator approximately once a month.
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia Secondary Arts program annually hosts the All-Catholic ensembles. These ensembles require lengthy preparation and auditions for a seat. Students from AOP High Schools receive audition materials and audition for the ensembles in the fall. Each ensemble practices a few times leading up to a large performance for each group. Every few years, the members of the All Catholic ensembles participate in the Concert of Excellence which is hosted at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.
Opportunities are given to students to participate in a number of outside honor bands hosted by local universities. Students are nominated by the instrumental music teacher to join the ensembles. Honor Band opportunities include The University of Pennsylvania, Immaculate University, and The Catholic University of America.
